[04:34] <Deledrius> :)
[04:35] <snover> im holding back the urge to close all tickets related to dead ports, for the moment. i really think they should get closed.
[04:40] <Deledrius> Which ports are currently dead but open?
[04:42] <snover> windows ce, ps2, symbian, ds, gamecube, wii, webos, caanoo, perhaps some others
[04:45] <snover> i just closed a 9-year-old ticket with an incomplete patch for java 2 micro edition&
[04:47] <snover> webos&
[04:50] <Deledrius> Shame about PS2 and DS, but I guess I don't even use those ports anymore. :/ No maintainers, I assume?
[04:50] <snover> no maintainers and nothing approaching a modern toolchain in the PS2 case
[04:51] <snover> in my experience, at some point in projects there gets to be so many bugs that people just think they can never get all of them fixed and give up, so since i have to review for the release anyway, i am trying to prune what i can to try to make things feel manageable again
[04:52] <snover> i once had a boss that would open tickets for every fleeting thought he ever had about some feature to add, which got demoralising for the team after a while
[04:55] <Deledrius> Yeah, I understand.
[04:56] <Deledrius> Probably for the best. If a resurrection for a port happens, they can always be re-opened and addressed anyway.
[04:56] <snover> i dont know what happened with these enhancement tickets, theres 140 of them with no category
[04:57] <snover> most of them are really old so i wonder if thats just because of the way the old old bug tracker worked
[05:05] <wjp> yeah
[05:05] <wjp> I had to get a bit creative to map things to Trac
[05:06] <snover> the good news is that i have a cliff named after me in the field of laborious bug tracker cleanup
[05:07] <wjp> I'm impressed by the amount of notifications I'm getting
[05:09] <wjp> there used to be three separate trackers: bugs, feature requests, and patches. I think each had their own set of category-likes
[05:09] <wjp> (and then things were passed through the classic-SF->Allura migration too)
[05:10] <snover> makes sense. the mapping went well, there was very little in bugs-type to fix.
[05:10] <snover> this would go faster if i knew all which engines all these games used. too many engines! :)
[05:16] <wjp> yeah...
[05:17] <wjp> http://wiki.scummvm.org/index.php/Engines helps
[05:30] <snover> well, i got it down to 48.
