[02:12] <snover> actually, i have been trying to decide how much energy i want to expend on figuring out the root cause of what seems to be a script bug in torin.

[02:20] <snover> basically, the game gets stuck if boogle isnt in the bag at this one place in the game. the game script checks to see if boogle is in the bag, and if it is, then the game forces it out of the bag and resets its position so it can move to the cuepoint and finish the sequence. if boogle is not in the bag, it is existing at some position very low on the screen, and cant seem to get to where it needs to go.
[02:21] <dreammaster> I'm going to be leaving the figuring out of all the unnamed/anonymous methods of the star control classes as a bit future TODO for someone who understands a bit more mathamatics than I do
[02:21] <snover> i can fix the bug by making that bag check unconditionally true, so the game plops boogle where it will surely succeed, but i dont know if the mover cant move boogle because its outside of the walkable area of the screen or what.
[02:23] <snover> if i just call boogles init method and then trigger the cutscene, it succeeds by floating up and out of the ground :)
[02:24] <snover> so i am *guessing* its running into the moveable area barrier from the outside, and so cant normally get to where it needs to go because of that
[02:30] <snover> currently trying to figure out if i can get the game to load its debug room script in the original interpreter so i can just teleport to this room and verify that it is a game bug without having to play the whole chapter
[02:31] <dreammaster> That would certainly make things easier, if possible. Games like Starship Titanic frustrate me.. the original only allowing for 5 saves. It means I've had to keep replaying parts in order to get to points where I can compare original behaviour against mine :P

[20:39] <snover> i am having to be very aggressive at recovering bytes so i can make an expensive send call, which currently means i am replacing several identical kcalls with a sal/lal instead, but there are a bunch of instructions in between these calls that i would like to avoid having to copy out of the script manually if possible.
