[15:41] I have no idea what the answer to your question is, but for information the iOS port uses portrait mode to display the virtual keyboard, which is useful for games that require text input or for saving games. [15:41] In landscape mode it takes the full screen and the virtual keyboard is not displayed. [15:41] In portrait mode ScummVM uses the upper part of the screen and the virtual keyboard is in the lower part. [15:42] ScummVM is then indeed quite small, but still usable imho, at least on tablets (maybe not on phones though). [15:43] On tablets that is not such a big issue but on a phone it's pretty much unusable [15:44] So that's why I want to force it to landscape mode somehow. [15:46] Maybe there is no simple way to do it, one way that works but might not be the nicest method is to just draw everything on a OpenGL sufrace and rotate than before displaying it. [15:47] forced orientation is a pretty user-hostile action. i would strongly encourage you to just make sure the normal orientation change works. [15:48] I found out why I am not getting github notifications [15:48] my scummvm.org email stopped working [15:48] Displaying ScummVM rotated by 90 degrees is not going to be very usable either I think, unless you are used to having the sky to your right rather than above you. [15:49] criezy|Work: What do you mean by that? [15:50] snover: That might be true, I need to see if I can get the information of the device orientation through SDL somehow. [15:52] mal: what I mean is that if you take a book and rotate it by 90 degrees compared to its normal orientation, it will be more difficult to read. The same is true with ScummVM. [15:52] Respecting the device orientation seems better to me. [15:53] ny00123 (~ny00123@2a02:ed0:4203:8400:4c60:d016:5c1c:9f50) joined #scummvm. [15:54] criezy|Work: Currently it's only running in portrait mode and the reason why I thought to use forced landscape is that in most cases people would use that since the game is bigger and more usable.
